ESTATE ENGINE PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: August 22, 2026
Estate Engine, LLC (“Estate Engine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy and confidentiality of the information entrusted to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how Estate Engine collects, uses, discloses, protects, and retains personal information when you visit the Estate Engine website, create or use an Estate Engine account, interact with us, or use the Estate Engine software platform and related services.
Estate Engine provides software to attorneys and law firms. Our customers use the platform to collect information from their clients and to prepare estate-planning documents. As explained below, information we process on behalf of a law firm is treated differently from information Estate Engine collects for its own business purposes.
1. SCOPE OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy applies to:
(a) visitors to the Estate Engine website;
(b) attorneys, law firms, and other users who create or use an Estate Engine account;
(c) prospective customers who request information, demonstrations, trials, or support;
(d) individuals who communicate directly with Estate Engine; and
(e) clients and prospective clients of law firms who provide information through Estate Engine at the direction of an Estate Engine customer.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the Estate Engine website, software platform, client intake tools, and related services are collectively the “Service.”
If Estate Engine and a customer have entered into a separate SaaS Service Agreement, data-processing agreement, or other written agreement concerning personal information, that agreement controls to the extent of an express conflict with this Privacy Policy.
2. OUR ROLE WHEN PROCESSING LAW-FIRM CLIENT INFORMATION
Estate Engine provides technology to attorneys and law firms. Estate Engine does not provide legal services and does not establish an attorney-client relationship with the individuals whose information is entered into the Service.
When an attorney or law firm uses Estate Engine to collect or process information about its clients or prospective clients, the attorney or law firm determines what information to collect and how that information will be used in providing legal services.
In that context, Estate Engine processes the information on behalf of and at the direction of the attorney or law firm.
We refer to information processed through the Service on behalf of an Estate Engine customer, including information concerning the customer’s clients and prospective clients, as “Customer Data.”
If you submitted information through an Estate Engine intake questionnaire or similar tool provided to you by your attorney or law firm, questions or requests concerning that information should generally be directed to that attorney or law firm. Estate Engine will assist its customers in responding to privacy requests when required by applicable law or our agreement with the customer.

6. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MODEL TRAINING
Estate Engine does not use Customer Data to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models for Estate Engine or third parties.
We do not knowingly permit an artificial-intelligence provider to use Customer Data to train its models unless the applicable Estate Engine customer separately and expressly authorizes that use after receiving disclosure of the proposed use.
Estate Engine may introduce artificial-intelligence, machine-learning, or similar features in the future. If an AI-enabled feature processes Customer Data:
(a) we may provide the information necessary to operate that feature to an appropriate technology provider;
(b) the provider must be subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations;
(c) the provider must not be authorized to use Customer Data to train its general-purpose or third-party models; and

You may be able to control certain cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies necessary for authentication, security, or functionality may prevent portions of the Service from operating correctly.
10. SECURITY
Estate Engine maintains commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Customer Data against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Our safeguards include:
(a) encryption of Customer Data in transit;
(b) encryption of Customer Data at rest; and
(c) authentication and authorization controls governing access to Customer Data and generated documents.
We may change our security controls as technology, threats, and industry practices evolve.
No method of internet transmission, electronic storage, network operation, or software security is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee that a security incident will never occur.
Customers are also responsible for protecting their own devices, systems, account credentials, and Authorized User access.

Retention periods vary depending on the type and purpose of the information.
